Our Apartments
Christopher’s Haven manages nine fully furnished and equipped apartments and a private community recreation area known as “The Loft” at One Emerson Place in Boston. Our “community” of apartments and The Loft are located on two floors of the high-rise residential building located across the street from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and in close proximity to other area medical centers.
Families with a child receiving treatment for cancer at a local medical center are eligible to stay at Christopher’s Haven. Siblings are an important part of the Christopher’s Haven community. Our staff ensures the siblings of the child receiving treatment are included in events and programs.

Yes, each apartment has a private mailbox located in the main lobby of the apartment building. To have mail or packages sent to you during the duration of your stay, use the following address:

Laundry facilities are available on-site in the basement of the building. We also have a beautiful gym available to you in the basement.
Residents are responsible for purchasing their own food and preparing their own meals. Frequently, volunteers will come and prepare dinners for families in our community loft. We have dinners provided multiple nights a week for our families.
Please bring toiletries that you use at home. You should bring any personal belongings (like your “can’t live without it” pillow) that will make you and your family feel more at home. Staff at Christopher’s Haven will try to provide something if you need it. We also provide a list of places in the area where you can purchase items you may have forgotten. All linens, towels and essential items in the kitchents are provided for you.
Each apartment is fully furnished with a queen, twin, and pullout bed as well as a smart television and Wi-Fi. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Each apartment has a full bathroom. The apartments are furnished with blankets/linens and towels.
Christopher’s Haven is here to be a home away from home, please contact us if you need to stay in Boston for cancer treatment. Fifty dollars a night is the suggested donation requested for use of our Units/Apartments. Please contact our Family Services Manager about additional resources that may be available to help. We will work with any family that may need financial assistance.
Prior to moving in, you are welcome to tour Christopher’s Haven. Please contact the Family Services Manager to set up an appointment to ensure that someone will be available to speak with you and give you a tour. Out of consideration for current guests, we cannot guarantee that you will see the actual apartment you will be staying in.
Yes, we can accept third-party payments from individuals or organizations to pay for the cost of a family’s stay. To discuss options for third-party payments, please contact us.
A typical stay at Christopher’s Haven is six to eight weeks, during which time your child must be receiving treatment in Boston.
If your child is scheduled to receive treatment at a local Boston Children’s Hospital, please complete our reservation application, and the Family Services Manager will reach out to you to discuss eligibility.
We are located at One Emerson Place in Boston, MA directly behind Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)
Christopher’s Haven is located in the heart of Boston with easy access to the MBTA Green Line (Science Park) and the Red Line (Charles/MGH).
There is discounted patient parking available at MGH. Please ask your social worker about pre-paid parking passes to the MGH garages. Please contact us on your move in date so that we can assist with temporary parking that will be easier for you.
